  Craig’s image started blurring. Bones began breaking.

  “Why is Craig shifting?”

  “Because, baby, now that we’re sure the twins know about weretigers, we’ve decided it’s time to play a little game called Catch a Tiger by the Tail.”

  “And how’s that played?” She started toward the bedroom door as Marrick turned his tiger loose.

  “Easy.” His words were garbled. “You and the twins chase us. If you can catch us by the tail, you win.”

  “You’re not supposed to shift during the day, remember?”

  “Then we can’t let anyone see us. Come on. Be daring, baby.” Marrick’s transformation sped up.

  In under a minute, both men had changed.

  They’re so amazing. As men and as tigers.

  Lisa flung open the bedroom door. “Hey, kids. Want to play a game?”

  Marrick and Craig dashed past her, heading toward the stairs. Teag and Kitty burst out of their bedroom and into the hall.

  “A game?” asked an excited Kitty.

  “A really fun game.” Lisa pointed toward the stairs as Marrick and Craig darted down them. “It’s called Catch a Tiger by the Tail. If you win, we’ll go to town and get ice cream.”

  “Yay!” Teag sprinted down the hallway.

  Kitty, however, threw her body against Lisa’s. “I love you.”

  Tears sprang to Lisa’s eyes. “I love you, too, sweetie.” She took Kitty’s arms and eased her back. “Now how about we catch a tiger by the tail?”

  She laughed, happy and fulfilled, as Kitty ran after her brother.
